Project Background

The business community in Rodd Point have called on Council to help them refresh the look and feel of the local town centre. For many businesses COVID-19 has presented a huge challenge but the Rodd Point team see it as an opportunity. Local retailers and businesses in the small village centre see a lot of potential in the area and are keen to make it more welcoming to local residents.
Council has engaged artist Carla Gottgens to undertake public art within the Rodd Point shopping precinct.

Outcome of community consultation

A report was taken to the June Council meeting outlining the issues in Rodd Point identified by residents and the business community. The report also contained a list of suggested strategies to mitigate these issues. To watch a recording of the meeting, click here. To view the report that was taken to Council, click here.

Council has commenced planning to install art on the roundabout to address the speed of cars in the area and improve the look and feel of the centre. An art brief will go out in July and we will post updates on this page when significant milestones are reached.
