A plan of management is a strategic document providing a 10 year planning and management framework for the future use, development and maintenance of areas of community and Crown land in accordance with relevant Local Government and Crown Land legislation. Plans of management are required for all community and Crown land managed by Council.

A master plan is to be read in conjunction with the plan of management. The master plan is the illustrative representation of the proposed construction and design outcomes.

It highlights long-term planning aspirations. It establishes best practice outcomes and a clear vision. It uses community goals and desires for the project, providing spatial organisation and a plan for implementation.

Plans of Management / Masterplans are important documents prepared using the evidence base of identified needs established through consultation with the community and stakeholders.

The new Plan of Management and Masterplan aims to achieve a coordinated future plan which reflects the needs for informal and organised recreation across the open space precinct and foreshore and clarify the role of Drummoyne Oval as a sporting and community facility.

Using the evidence base developed through engagement with the community and stakeholders, the PoM / MP will help us determine:

• How the parks and open space can be used – what activities are allowable
• What upgrade of existing facilities is proposed and what development of new facilities can take place
• Inform Council’s future Capital Works Program and applications for funding.

The community will be engaged throughout the development of the plan:

• At the start to understand uses, issues and aspirations for park users and the wider community. A report will be published documenting the results from this process.
• A draft plan will be developed which will be publicly exhibited to obtain further input before appropriate changes and adoption.
