Project background

The City of Canada Bay Code of Conduct sets the minimum standards of conduct for council officials. It is based on the Office of Local Government’s Model Code of Conduct prescribed under section 440 of the Local Government Act, 1993 and the Local Government Regulation, 2021.

The policy has now been updated to align with the current policy template. This template formally includes information at the back of the Policy in relation to responsibilities, related laws, standards and policies, consultation, approval status, and approval history.

The draft Code of Conduct Policy is now on public exhibition. You are invited to take a look at the draft and provide your feedback by Thursday, 28 August 2025.

Following the public exhibition period a further report, including details of any submissions made, will be prepared and taken to a meeting of Council in September 2025.
