Project background
In line with Council’s Let’s All Play Strategy, we’re planning to upgrade the playground in Coralie Reserve, Wareemba.
The aim is to create a play space that is inclusive and accessible. Although small, we appreciate the value that this pocket park provides the local and visiting community. We are aiming to open the upgraded playground for the community to use in 2025.
Draft concept design
From 1 April - 12 May 2024 we asked for community feedback on the playground design, location, and accessibility.
Feedback has been used to draft a concept design for the upgrade which incorporates:
- A new concrete path and areas of rubber softfall to improve access to, and around the playground
- New playground furniture including swings, a combination play unit with slide and toddler play items
- New sandstone blocks to provide additional gathering areas and places for sitting
- Additional seating
- Retention of the existing bubbler, shade trees and turf areas
We then asked for feedback on the draft concept design - what you like about it and if anything was missing. Feedback closed on Sunday 1 September 2024 and the draft concept design can be viewed below.
